This past weekend we set out to make an itty bitty difference. Itty bitty for now at least. Just down the block, around the corner is that little creek, the one where you take your dog for a walk, or ride the bikes with your wife, or push the kid’s stroller on your morning jog. We all have “that” creek. What if we said that little stream, that little footprint could completely reverse some of the problems our planet is facing. News Flash, it can!
I have made the mistake in the past of turning my nose up to a littered stream because it isn’t picturesque or it doesn’t have fun fish to catch. Really sit back and think about it. That little stream we are turning a blind eye to; where does it flow? You got it! It flows into the beautiful lakes where everyone loves to go hang for the weekend. It flows into the breathtaking streams where we love to fly fish. It flows into the majestic oceans where you and your family go to vacation. Could it really be that simple?
We cleaned over 16 bags of trash from a half mile section of Little Sugar Creek. If two people can do so much with just a single afternoon, image what we could do with 4, 6, or even 8 more people.
Let’s be the difference.
